We award medals to honour those in the military, police and civilians for acts of exemplary bravery and sacrifice in keeping us safe. Yet we don’t currently recognise our medical service.
Over 500 NHS staff and frontline healthcare workers have gave their life in the fight against Covid 19.
I wanted the government to acknowledge this. To commission medals of honour for these unsung heroes. Tributes to all the families so they know their deaths weren’t in vain.
For the first time, truly recognising them for the actions they took. And the part they played in beating the virus. Paying the ultimate sacrifice to keep our country safe.
